The VCSL crowns a Premier and Classic club champion each season. The overall cub championship is recognition of the cumulative achievement of each club’s teams. All teams accrue points for their club per their performance during the season. The winning club retains the traveling trophy for the season after their victory. The club championship is VCSL’s highest honor.

Club points are allocated per division with 0 points for the bottom position in the table and increments of two points for each place closer to first.  A five team division is tabulated as follows (fifth through first): 0, 2, 4, 6, 8.  If teams tie for a position, the points for the positions in the standings involved are totaled and divided by the number of teams involved in the tie.

In the Premier Club Championship the expectation is that all clubs competing for this championship will field one team per age group in a minimum of half of the Premier Divisions.  Points are allocated for all teams in each division.  If a Premier club has second or third (Classic) teams playing up into a Premier Division, those points are assigned to the Classic Club Champion standings as described for Classic clubs below.

Teams from Classic clubs may play up into Premier Divisions where space permits and team competition level aligns.  In this case, the team’s club points count towards their club’s total in the Classic Club Championship.  Classic Clubs receive whatever points they earn through their place in each division’s final standings plus 6 bonus points for playing in a Premier Division. Those points are added to points accrued for the club in other Classic Divisions.
